The Song Goes On...
|
The songs for my second album came very quickly and I was ready to record again in just over a years time. This album has more original music than the first and again I had help from a friend. This time, a young couple supported and advised me. They helped me with the organisation and I did all the foot work. For me, the most important reason for recording the album, was the lead song "Life is a Treasure." This time I asked the teachers to choose the children for me using the criteria of enthusiasm, work ethic, and a pleasing voice. We launched the album with great fanfare and a party.
The notes on the CD cover say: "The most wonderful thing about working with children is their honest enthusiasm and lack of pretense. I wish to thank all the children who accepted my invitation to make this CD come into being. It humbles me that the children embrace so thoroughly the songs that I write and it is for them that they are written. These children from Good Shepherd Community School gave their time to come and record the songs on this CD. Mya, Stephanie, Eliza-Jane, Jordan, Jessica, Natasha, Annalise, Kayla, Emily, Cristie, Courtney, Sharyn, Tiarna, Kiaya, Grace, Elizabeth, Shayla, Christopher, Kadie, Janine, Zachery, Cory, Alyssa, Nicole, Teegan, Samantha, Alivia, Michael, Ruby, Mitchell, Roy, Caitlin,Keegan, Timothy, Emily, Ryleigh, Jordhan, and Laura. I would like to thank the teachers and staff of Good Shepherd for their wonderful support throughout this entire project. Their faith in me has bolstered me many times when it seemed that nothing was getting done. Thank you to Cathy and Norm for their unfailing support and Cathy for all her pushing! Thank you to to my daughter Bethany for her magnificent art work and her patience with an impatient Mum. |
