This is the first album I recorded. I had only been writing songs for a year, but they were proving very popular with the children I visited on a weekly basis. Three different teachers suggested that I might want to consider recording my own CD so the children would have the songs when I wasn't in the classroom with them. I thought long and hard and finally mentioned the idea to a music teacher friend. She picked up the idea and ran with it! There was no escape for me, now I had to follow through. Children were chosen to help with the recording and I must admit that we did not audition them. The children were chosen for their enthusiasm and joy. We all had a wonderful time creating "Season of Song."
Notes on the album cover say: This CD is a compilation of songs written by Marian Fellows and traditional favourites. It is the result of many hours of work by many wonderful people. The Children who are so important in my life and are so willing to share their joy in song have inspired most of my songs.
This CD belongs to the grade 4s at Ryan Catholic College. They have all worked hard to make this dream come true. To them goes my heart felt thanks. The children who had the courage to lend their voices to the CD deserve a special thanks.
