This song tells the story of Palm Sunday when Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a
donkey. I imagine Jesus as a fairly tall man, though even if he wasn't, he had
asked for a donkey colt, so the donkey would not have been full grown. Now
using you imagination, picture him on the little donkey riding into town. I
find the picture rather humourous. The children love this song and enjoy adding
actions that include the slapping of their knees.
